WWE Already Preparing For Roman Reigns’ Return?
Roman Reigns has already been missing from WWE TV for almost four months and it appears that the company could already be putting the wheels in motion for his return.
At Elimination Chamber, Braun Strowman was defeated in his no-disqualification match with Baron Corbin after he was triple powerbombed through two tables by Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley and Corbin which was reportedly the trio sending a message to The Shield by using their signature move.
According to a report by WrestlingNewsCo, this could be an angle that WWE has put together to re-introduce Reigns to the roster, since Dean Ambrose has recently turned face so the two stars could then go on to align themselves with Braun Strowman.
For what it’s worth, all recent updates have stated that Reigns’ recovery is going well and he recently starred alongside The Rock in Fast and Furious spinoff Hobbs And Shaw, which itself is a positive update on his situation.
Ronda Rousey Wasn’t Originally Supposed To Face Ruby Riott On Raw
Ronda Rousey easily defeated Ruby Riott at Elimination Chamber before turning her attention to Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch, but incredibly despite being part of a squash match just 24 hours earlier, Riott was given a second chance at the Raw Women’s Championship on Raw.
This time the match was much longer, but the outcome was once again the same and this was because WWE was forced to make a number of late changes to Raw because of Seth Rollins’ injury.
According to The Wrestling Observer, Rousey was originally supposed to face Alexa Bliss in a squash match, but because WWE had to make up some time on the show, the decision was made to allow Riott and Rousey to work together once again and create a much longer match.
“Ronda was supposed to wrestle Alexa Bliss in another quick squash like the match at Elimination Chamber.”
“They needed more time out of the Rousey match so the feeling was that Rousey vs Bliss would’t be good, but Rousey and Riott were comfortable working together so that match was a Ronda Rousey match that wasn’t planned at all. They didn’t even know until the day, it was supposed to be Bliss. So that was changed,” he said via Ringsidenews.
The match was made official at the last minute, which is reportedly the reason why it seemed as though it was a little ‘botchy’ in places.
