Alexa Bliss‘ past year has been plagued with injuries, ever since she was injured at the hands of Ronda Rousey back at Hell in a Cell last year. Bliss has missed a number of important moments in the Women’s Revolution because of her injuries and earlier this week it was revealed that she wouldn’t be able to compete in the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match due to another concussion.

Bliss won the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match last year and it was hoped that the former Women’s Champion would defend her win in the match this year, but her injuries seemingly once again caught up to her.

Of course, Bliss would have to be replaced so that there were still eight women in the match and the company decided that Nikki Cross would be the perfect person to step into her shoes this weekend.

Cross was on hand to replace Bliss Monday night on Raw in a fatal four-way match that also included Naomi, Natalya, and Dana Brooke. Cross picked up the victory when she pinned Natalya after it was revealed that Bliss had lost her luggage on her way to the United Kingdom and was unable to participate in the match.

WWE officially announced that Cross would replace Bliss last night and the former Women’s Champion seems happy with the choice of star to take her place.

It is unknown as to whether or not Alexa Bliss will play a certain role in Money in the Bank despite being injured since the Money in the Bank ladder match is a no-disqualification match she could interfere and help Nikki Cross to win her first major match in WWE. Either way, it’s likely that Bliss will still be part of the show in one form or another.
