Cesaro and Sheamus were put together a tag team back when Mick Foley was at the helm of Monday Night Raw and a best of seven series was unable to come between the two men. It was then decided that they should instead become a tag team and went on to become Champions.
Even though both men are seen as main level talents, they were able to take over the Tag Team Division and working as a tag team wrestler helped Sheamus to remain in the ring despite his obvious injuries.
The Celtic Warrior hasn’t been seen since WrestleMania and it’s been widely reported that he could have had his final wrestling match since he has been struggling with cervical spinal stenosis for a while. The former World Champion was said to have been lucky to have made it through WrestleMania and his injuries are said to be the reason why he’s been missing from WWE TV for the past month.
Cesaro has been working and traveling with Sheamus for the past few years, so much so that he was unaware that the company was looking to split The Bar up. The former Champion recently spoke to TalkSport, where he opened up about the fact that he didn’t know that The Bar was splitting until he was drafted over to Raw.
“See, I was traded after the Superstar Shakeup. So, I actually thought that The Bar may not have been broken up, you know? You never know! Then, all of a sudden I get a message like ‘Hey, your travel changed,’ and I’m like ‘Ah, OK yeah, guess I’m a RAW guy now!,’ he said via Ringsidenews.
It’s not that much of a shock that Cesaro was the last person to know that WWE was splitting up The Bar since it could have been another last minute decision. Cesaro hasn’t been given a lot of opportunities on Raw so far, so hopefully, his fortunes change in the future.
