Bayley and Brock Lesnar were this year’s Money in the Bank winners and even though The Huggable one cashed in her Money in the Bank contract to become Champion last night by defeating Charlotte Flair, it appears that this may not have been the original outcome that the company had planned.

Bayley was a shock winner given the field she was up against, but according to Fightful, Ember Moon was also considered as the winner of this year’s match since she put on a fantastic display last year. Moon had one of the highlights of the match though since she delivered an incredible Eclipse from outside of the ring to Natalya while the Queen of Hearts was still inside the ring.

Brock Lesnar shocked the world last night when he ran in and won the Money in the Bank contract match, something that many fans thought must have been a last minute change.

Fightful went on to state that the original plans for Money in the Bank saw Ali climb the ladder and retrieve the contract but just before the stars were set to head out the curtain they were informed that there would be a last minute addition to the match and that he would be winning it.

According to various reports, the identity of the eighth man in the match was kept secret until Brock Lesnar appeared, Ali was just told that he would be pushed off the ladder at the end and wouldn’t be the one winning the contract on this occasion.

It is unknown as to why Lesnar needs the Money in the Bank contract unless this is because he is making a move over to SmackDown Live or because he wants a rematch for his Universal Championship, either way, WWE has to have an interesting reason behind pushing The Beast back into the title picture.
